SENANGA-27Th December,2024. Senanga Town Council wishes to provide an update on the ongoing rehabilitation of gravel roads within the district. A total of 9.7 kilometers of gravel roads have been proposed for rehabilitation under the current phase, covering the following roads:

𝟭. 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 (𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗶 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 – 𝟬.𝟯𝗞𝗺 – 𝟬.𝟳𝗞𝗺.

𝟱. 𝗠𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 – 𝟭.𝟱𝗞𝗺

𝟳. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘂 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗯𝘆𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 – 𝟬.𝟳𝗞𝗺

Unfortunately, the rehabilitation works have stalled due to the breakdown of the Tractor-Loader-Backhole (TLB) equipment and the unavailability of lubricants on the local market.

We are pleased to inform the public that the required lubricants have now been procured and delivered. All earth-moving equipment are currently awaiting servicing, and the rehabilitation works are scheduled to resume effective 2nd January 2025.

The public may also wish to know that under the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), an allocation has been made to rehabilitate an additional 20 kilometers of gravel roads. Relevant community bodies will be engaged in January 2025 to identify the priority roads to be worked on under this allocation.

The Council appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this period. We remain committed to improving road infrastructure to enhance accessibility and development across the district.
